Tsunami In Hawaii

Created an ID on Tumblr a few minutes ago and saw an update regarding Tsunami hitting Hawaii. According to the WSJ the Tsunami was expected. The reason for the Tsunami is The 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck off coastal Chile.

Evacuations are taking place in low lying areas in Hawaii to prevent loss of human life. People have been advised to stay away from the coastline for 6 to 12 hours after the first Tsunami waves.

Casualties can be high because the waves move faster than humans can run.

Alberto Giancometti's - Walking Man I (L'homme qui Marche I) became the most expensive artwork ever sold at an auction. The sculpture was auctioned at Sotheby's last week for US $ 104.3 million.

The earlier record holder was a painting by Pablo Picasso - Boy with a Pipe (Garcon a la pipe) - it was auctioned for US $ 104.2 million, in 2004, also by Sotheby's.

Alberto Giancometti started the sculpture in 1960, when he was asked to be part of a public project by New York's Chase Manhattan Plaza. The project didn't work out and the sculptor adandoned it. In 1961, he cast the life-size work in bronze and displayed it at the Venice Biennale.

Walking Man I was part of the corporate collection of Germany's Dresdner Bank, which was taken over by Commerzbank AG last year. Commerzbank intends to use the sale proceeds to strengthen the resources of its new foundation centre and to partner museums for restoration work and educational programmes.

Had I been Elin Nordegren's legal advisor the advise would have been same. A larger separation amount = bigger cut. However she must be really cold if she does go ahead and stick with Tiger Woods for four more years. Tiger incidentally is in a sex rehab center righ now and Elin Nordegren visited him there. A woman, thought to be Nordegren's twin sister Josefin, took Woods' and Nordegren's two children, to see the whales at SeaWorld in Florida.

An interesting hypothetical scenario would be if both parties stay together and Elin Nordegren cheats Tiger Woods. Would she then get any money?

Meanwhile English football team's captain John Terry has proved there is no dearth of Tigers in England. His wife Toni is in Dubai with their two kids and her mother. Toni wants to divorce Terry. The reason being - Terry did a Tiger on his wife. Been going through pics of John Terry's mistresses. They seem far more sexy than mistresses of Tiger Woods.

Yoshikazu Tanaka Asia's Youngest Self - Made Billionaire

Yoshikazu Tanaka, at age 32 is the youngest self-made billionaire in Asia and the second youngest in the world, behind 26 year old Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Tanaka is worth $1.6 billion, almost double the $850 million he was listed at in 2009. He made the money from Gree, Japan's second most popular social networking site. His site allows its now 15 million users to customize their game-playing avatars by purchasing clothing and accessories.

Tanaka is the 18th richest Japanese. Tried creating an ID on Gree using google translate, but there seems to be some issue with mobile email. Never mind, I don't really need another ID to remember. Saw lots of South Koreans engrossed in role palying games in cyber cafes during my stay there so can imagine what Gree is like.

Tanaka founded the network in 2004. Would really have liked to write more but can't concentrate right now.
