Matt Mullenweg And The Future Of Softwares

Hope You Don't Get A Delli Belli Matt

I tried migrating this blog to Wordpress, it seemed the links became dead so decided on remaining on Blogger. There is no doubt Wordpress is rising steadily and may soon replace Blogger as the leading platform for blogging. However, Wordpress is much more than a blogging platform, it is an entire Content Management System. What that means is you can have a proper website or even a radio station managed using Wordpress.

Today was the first day of India's First Wordpress Camp. It was nice to see some of the bloggers whose blogs I often skim for information. There were great sessions by Om Malik, Shreyas of Radio Verve, Abhijeet Mukherjee, Abhinav Gulyani and Amit Agarwal apart from the 'State of the Word' address by Matt Mullenweg; the guiding force behind the Wordpress movement.

Two things which stood out for me...

*CRI ---> Context, Relevance, Intelligence. Om Malik who runs his blogging company said in his address that as blogging matures, what people would look for is the context, relevance and intelligence in the manner in which the information, view is provided. At the same time enjoy blogging, consider a blog like a white paper.
Make the blog worth your time and people will certainly visit your blog.

*Humble, Agile and Global ---> The future of softwares. According to Matt Mullenweg the future of softwares and internet lies in personalization. Softwares would be humble (user driven), agile (thru plugins) and global (available in all countries and languages and free!). Though I admire Open Source a lot and believe it will certainly help India become a developed country I wan't aware one can sell Open Source softwares.

Good Job Matt!

Infact there were a few more sessions but had a bit of a hangover so left early. Would update blog tomorrow with happenings on Day 2 of Word Camp India.
