India's first mission to moon lifted off 3 1/2 hours ago at 6.22 AM IST today.Chandrayaan is right now in an elliptical orbit around Earth,it will shift to a transfer orbit & captured by the moon's gravity field via a final thrust.

ReplyDeleteThanx pat.I'll keep visitors updated about progress of the mission.This morning's newspaper said this is the 70th mission to moon.65 by the US & the ex USSR,1 by China,1 European Space agency & so on.I guess there is scope for int'l collaboration in outer space missions.
